Asked to create a lively publication describing EPSRC’s investments in highly creative research, Matt Shinn took a proactive approach to the brief, and showed himself to be an outstanding writer and editor, able to translate the most complex scientific and academic subjects into compelling everyday English. He researched, wrote and edited all content, which involved approaching academics and industry partners without first having been introduced: Matt quickly established strong relationships with them, effectively acting as an ambassador for EPSRC.
